Danang offers new attractions

 DANANG, 2 February 2016: Danang’s Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism will launch new tourist attractions to attract more visitors to the city.

Tuoi Tre News reported the city will inaugurate a mineral spring resort, a  museum of arts and  tour packages on the city’s Han River to woo more holidaymakers to visit Danang.

The Than Tai mineral spring resort, slated to open in Hoa Vang district, this April, will offer  mineral and mud baths as well as a wellness spa.

In addition, a new 18-hole golf course will open at Ba Na Hills resort.

New tour packages will also be launched in the city’s downtown area including a boat tour on the Han River to Ngu Hanh Son and Cham Isle on the Han River.

From 17 to 27 February, Danang will organise 20 tourism and cultural events to welcome the yachts taking part in the Around the World Clipper Race. Danang is the seventh port of call on a race that will visit 17 ports worldwide.

The city will sponsor sporting events such as the Ironman 70.3 and a series of street performances and music shows in 2016.

Danang’s Ironman 70.3, also known as Half Ironman, is one of a series of long-distance triathlon races organised by the World Triathlon Corporation.

The event will take place 8 May in Danang and surrounding areas, when participants will complete a 1.9-km ocean swim, a scenic two-loop 90-km bike course, and the final 21-km out-and-back run course.

The city will be the first host a national-level fair on MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Events) tourism, scheduled to take place, 24 to 26 June. The fair is expected to attract 150 exhibition booths and 120 foreign buyers. Target markets are Japan, South Korea, Australia, and the EU.

Last year, Danang welcomed 4.7 million tourists, both domestic and international, a 22.4% year-on-year increase. The city’s tourism revenue reached USD566.96 million.
