After Woods finished playing in a tournament Sunday, a reporter asked him to explain his relationship with Trump given his divisive stances on issues like immigration and the national anthem.

“He’s the president of the United States. You have to respect the office. No matter who is in the office, you may like, dislike personality or the politics, but we all must respect the office,” Woods responded.

Trump and Woods have known each other for several years, and the two have golfed together, most recently last November.
