World Golf Awards announces global winners for 2025

LONDON, UK – The World Golf Awards has released the results of its 2025 programme, highlighting leading destinations, venues and organisations shaping international golf tourism. This year’s awards reflect broad geographic diversity and underline the sector’s continued momentum, with industry professionals, media representatives and consumers participating in the voting process.

Portugal secured a prominent position in the rankings, receiving the title of World’s Best Golf Destination, while Madeira was named World’s Best Emerging Golf Destination. In the design category, Sir Nick Faldo was recognised as Golf Designer of the Year, reflecting the expansion of his international project portfolio, which currently includes developments in Vietnam, Brazil, Pakistan and Madeira.

Several high-profile distinctions were awarded to Trump International Scotland. The New Course received both World’s Best Golf Course and Europe’s Best New Golf Course, while the property as a whole was acknowledged for its contribution to golf tourism hospitality. Commenting on the recognition, former U.S. President Donald J. Trump noted that he was pleased with the result and commended his team’s work on the course.

In the private club category, The Els Club Vilamoura in the Algarve was named World’s Best Private Golf Club and is preparing to host a PGA Champions Tour event in 2026.

The awards also highlighted performance across key regions and specialisations within the golf tourism ecosystem. LIV Golf Adelaide at The Grange Golf Club was selected as World’s Best Golf Event of the Year, while 54 Limited earned the title of Golf Advisory & Operations Team of the Year. Ireland’s Fairways and FunDays received recognition as World’s Best Golf Tour Operator.

Regional honours included Madinaty Golf Club in Egypt (Africa’s Best Golf Course), Terras da Comporta – Dunas Golf Course in Portugal (Europe’s Best Golf Course), Augusta National Golf Club in Georgia (North America’s Best Golf Course), the Serapong Course at Sentosa Golf Club in Singapore (Asia’s Best Golf Course), and Heritage Golf Club – La Réserve Golf Links in Mauritius (Indian Ocean’s Best Golf Course).

Chris Frost, Managing Director of the World Golf Awards, stated that this year’s winners demonstrate the sector’s resilience and ongoing drive for quality and innovation. He added that the record level of global voting reflects the increasing international engagement with golf tourism.

The 2025 results provide industry stakeholders with a clear overview of current market leaders across destinations, course design, events and operations, offering useful insight into emerging trends and competitive dynamics within global golf tourism.
