KAL flies to Dalat in Vietnam – TTR Weekly

HANOI, 10 June 2019: Korean Air launched a new service at the weekend flying to Vietnam’s highland town of Dalat.

KAl will now fly from Seoul to Dalat twice weekly on Thursday and Sunday evenings.

According to timetable information from Airlineroute, the service using a Boeing 737 departs Seoul at 1910 on Thursday and arrives in Dalat at 2210. On Sunday the flight departs Seoul at 2035 and arrives in Dalat at 2335.

Flights are due for possible changes in the winter timetable effective 10 October depending on passenger demand.

Dalat is a relatively new destination for South Koreans who traditionally visit Ho Chi Minh City and Danang for its golf courses and its proximity to Ho An a world heritage site.

Up until the launch of the direct service, KAL ticketed passengers on its flight to Hanoi with a connecting Vietnam Airlines service to Dalai and an overall travel time of nine hours and 45 minutes The fare is around USD410.  The alternatives have similar travel times in excess of nine hours with fares of around USD308 on Vietnam Airlines

However, the direct KAL flight to Dalat will cut the travel time to five hours, but with a much higher fare of USD583 according to fare comparison sites.

Dalat is the capital of Lam Dong province in Vietnam and is located at 1,500 m above sea level in the southern Central Highlands region. It is a popular tourist destination for both foreigners and Vietnamese due to its cooler climate and mountain vistas.
