Myanmar proposes three more sports for 2021 Vietnam SEA Games – The Myanmar Times

The Myanmar Olympic Committee has proposed three additional sports be added to the 2021 Southeast Asian Games in Vietnam.

The proposal was delivered during a virtual meeting of the Southeast Asian Games Federation (SEAGF) to discuss the number of sports to be staged during the regional sports event next year.

Myanmar has proposed to add Traditional Boat Racing, Hockey, and Chinlone.

Chinlone would fall under the sepaktakraw category in the games.

“We have proposed to add three sports for SEA Games 2021. The final decision will be made during the meeting of the SEAGF Council in November.” said U Khon Jar Aung, deputy director of the Department of Sports and Physical Education.

The SEA Games is expected to be held from November 21 to December 2,2021, with 36 to 40 sports planned.

The Vietnam SEA Games, which will be the 31st time the games are being held, are expected to feature such as aquatics including diving and swimming, archery, athletics, badminton, basketball, billiards, bodybuilding, boxing, canoeing, chess, cycling, dance sport, fencing, football, golf, gymnastics, handball, judo, karate, kickboxing, kurash, muaythai, pencak silat, petanque, rowing, sepak takraw, shooting, table tennis, taekwondo, tennis, volleyball, vovinam, weightlifting, and wushu.
