National Day celebrated in Cambodia, Hong Kong

Hanoi (VNA) – The Vietnamese Consulate General in Battambang city of Cambodia recently organised an event in celebration of the 71st August Revolution (August 19) and National Day of Vietnam (September 2).

Speaking at the ceremony, Consul General Nguyen Son Thuy hailed the great significance of the August Revolution and the Declaration on September 2, 1945.

Battambang Governor Chal Sophol thanked the Vietnamese Party, Government, army and people for their support for Cambodia’s past struggle for liberation as well as its present economic development and social order and political security maintenance.

He affirmed that Cambodia’s northwestern provinces are willing to boost economic-defence ties with Vietnamese localities and ministries, hoping for growing relations between the two countries in the time ahead.

Also on the occasion of the 71st August Revolution and National Day, the Vietnamese Consulate General in China’s Hong Kong and Macau collaborated with the Vietnam Airlines office in Hong Kong held a golf competition on September 5.

The event attracted the participation of more than 20 people from Vietnam’s representative offices and Vietnam Airlines’ partners in Hong Kong.-VNA
