The first golf course in Ba Na

VietNamNet Bridge – The Sun Group on March 25 held an official opening ceremony for Ba Na Hills Golf Club in Ba Na in the central city of Danang. This is the first golf course in the world designed under the consultancy of world-famous golfer Luke Donald.

Mr. Dang Minh Truong, CEO of Sun Group, speaks at the opening ceremony.

Ba Na Hills Golf Club is located on the road of Ba Na – Suoi Mo, next to Ba Na Hills Mountain Resort, and only 25 minutes from Danang. On an area of 165 hectares, in the first phase, the golf course has 18 holes, designed by the world’s No. 1 golfer Luke Donald, who is known for his laser-like accurate strokes.

Ba Na Hills Golf Club is a mountain course with a diverse mix of natural topography and vegetation. On the most beautiful natural terrain of the mountainous Ba Na  area, Ba Na Hills Golf Club has the first nine rounds running along trees, sand bunkers and the other nine rounds twisting over the hillsides.

From here, on the paspalum vaginatum grass (imported from the US), the golf ball has a chance to generously go through the white sand dunes, lakes and bushes. The teeing ground is designed with subtle flexure forming different ball strokes.

Each golfer at all levels has the opportunity to conquer the challenges of the 72 standard strokes and the total distance of 7,595 yards (equivalent to 6945 meters).

In particular, at Ba Na Hills Golf Club, golfers can open or end the game at any time, whether day or night thanks to the lighting system up to international standards.

“This is really a great opportunity for me. Here we have a great space to be creative with good changes of altitude and beautiful natural conditions including forests, streams and mountains,” said Donald.

Along with the Ba Na Hills Resort, the Suoi Mo – Ba Na Road, Sun Group continues to bring visitors the unique experience and the complete utilities for the world-class tourism, entertainment and resort complex in Ba Na with the inauguration of the Ba Na Hills Golf Club.

“We believe that with its unique beauty Ba Na Hills Golf Club is going to be a highlight of tourism in Danang and will help attract more foreign tourists, especially those with high income, to Danang. Sun Group also commits to join hands with the local government and local people to maintain Danang’s leading position in the country in the field of tourism,” said Dang Minh Truong, CEO of Sun Group.

Ba Na Hills Golf Club is the first in Sun Group’s chain of golf courses to be constructed throughout the country. The second phase of the golf course will be completed at the end of 2018.
