Winners of Vietnam Tourism Awards 2018 honoured

The ceremony was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Head of the State Steering Committee on Tourism, Vu Duc Dam, and Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Nguyen Ngoc Thien.

85 outstanding travel agencies, hotels, services providers and carriers in the country were honoured at the event for their positive contributions to Vietnam’s hospitality sector over the past year.

Categories in the awards included the: Top 15 five-star hotels, Top 15 four-star hotels, Top 10 inbound tour providers, Top 10 outbound tour providers, Top 5 Automobile Carriers, Top 10 restaurants, Top 5 tourist attractions, Top 10 golf courses, and Top 5 tourism investment groups.

Over its 19 editions, the awards have contributed to raising the competitiveness of Vietnam’s tourism sector, developing the national tourism brand, and promoting the role of the tourism sector in the national economy.

The organising board also announced 12 winners of a writing contest on Vietnamese tourism, which was launched from October 2017 under the theme “I Love Vietnam”.

One grand prize, as well as one first, two second, three third and five consolation prizes were presented to the best entries, which were selected from more than 400 submissions.
