The airlines will conduct four flights per week on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays using Airbus A321 aircrafts.

The one-hour-and-35-minute long flight will depart from Da Nang at 10:55pm and at 1:45am from Bangkok.

It is the fourth international route departing from Da Nang to be opened, after those to Siem Reap (Cambodia), Seoul (the Republic of Korea) and Tokyo (Japan).

Speaking at the launching ceremony, Deputy Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Dang Viet Dung said the new Da Nang-Bangkok air service will help boost trade and tourism between the two cities and strengthen relations between Vietnam and Thailand.

To celebrate the launch of the new service, Vietnam Airlines is offering special ticket deals on this route with return tickets priced from VND669,000 (US$29) for economy class and from VND5,499,000 (US$239) for business class.

The promotional tickets will be sold until July 10 for travel between June 26 and December 31. The fares are inclusive of government taxes and fees.

Da Nang lies within easy reach of the country’s best heritage icons, including Phong Nha-Ke Bang in Quang Binh, the UNESCO-recognised world heritage Hue monuments complex, the ancient city of Hoi An, My Son Sanctuary and a world biosphere reserve, Cham Island in Quang Nam

It had welcomed approximately 659,000 tourist arrivals, including over 6,820 Thai visitors, as of May this year, up 25.9% year on year.

The city, which has 24 international air routes, hosted 4.6 million tourists in 2015, of which 1.25 million were foreigners.
